Beijing successfully bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics
China News Service, Kuala Lumpur, July 31. On July 31, the 128th Plenary Session of the International Olympic Committee held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia voted to become the host city for the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.
After successfully hosting the unparalleled 2008 Summer Olympics, Beijing officially proposed to bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in 2013, hoping to contribute another wonderful, extraordinary and outstanding Winter Olympics to the world.
The cities that bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics were originally Beijing, China, Krakow, Poland, Oslo, Norway, Almaty, Kazakhstan, and Lviv, Ukraine. On July 7, 2014, the International Olympic Committee announced that Beijing, Oslo, Alah Mutu became a candidate city for the 2022 Winter Olympics. After Oslo withdrew, the only candidate cities remain Beijing and Almaty.
In January 2015, the Beijing Winter Olympics bid committee submitted a bid report to the International Olympic Committee greater than the one.
